It may or may not have to do with the fact that I had the play-doh out taunting them before I let them use it ; They use the play-doh to form our letters and then practice writing them with the dry-erase marker. They love using the little magnetic letters to match letters and find beginning sounds.

We used our penguin art as illustrations in an e-book we are currently writing together. It give my students the opportunity to practice what we have learned and keeps them busy so I can do my Guided Reading groups.
